Let’s face it folks – it’s Fall. What does that mean? It means less sun and cooler weather. This tends to slow us down and makes us less active overall. The less active we are and the less time we spend outside increases the potential for getting sick, physically or mentally. Today I am going to give you 3 important
things to help boost your immune system and health during the cold season.

1. Supplement with Vitamin D

Vitamin D is necessary for the proper functioning of your immune system — which is your body’s first line of defense against infection and disease. Covid has been a terrible virus that has taken many lives and made even more severely sick.

However, a recent study has determined that a blood level of 25- hydroxyvitamin D of at least 30 ng/mL seemed to help reduce the likelihood of adverse clinical outcomes and death in hospitalized patients with COVID-19*.

Hospital data of 235 patients with COVID-19 were analyzed. In patients older than age 40, those who had adequate levels of vitamin D were 51.5% less likely to have adverse outcomes, including becoming unconscious, hypoxia, and death, as compared to vitamin D-deficient patients. This is some important info when thinking about a virus like Covid but any other such viruses that may present themselves in the future.

2. Bloodflow

Bloodflow can be considered movement and or blood circulation through your body. This is ever important and during fall and winter seasons it becomes harder to get out, up, and moving.

Sitting and lack of activity can lead to some serious issues including: restriction of muscle growth and development, muscle pain stiffness or weakness, or higher risk of metabolic diseases such as heart disease, just to name a few.
